Gabriel M. Helmer is the co-chair of Foley Hoag’s Security & Privacy Practice Group. He advises clients working to protect sensitive information and intellectual property assets. His practice focuses on companies seeking to prevent or respond to breaches of security, including data breaches and leaks, electronic espionage, network intrusions, as well as various kinds of electronic, audio and video surveillance. Gabriel counsels clients on effective ways to respond in emergencies and leads investigations into a variety of information security incidents. He has also helped his clients prevail in court when legal action became a necessary part of securing client information. As part of this work, Gabriel helps clients in evaluating and developing information security programs and procedures in compliance with recent laws and regulations.
